The Friends of Nepal Association was formed in 2012. The association's purpose is to support various initiatives in Nepal and to contribute to the exchange of knowledge between our countries in order to promote Nepal's development. Friends of Nepal collaborates with various organizations in Nepal and supports a number of projects in the country. In addition to supporting long-term projects, the association also contributes to emergency efforts in the event of, for example, natural disasters.
In the major earthquakes of 2015, many schools were destroyed across Nepal. The Friends of Nepal Association has provided financial support to help rebuild one school, Arkul School, in the central parts of the country. This has evolved into providing training to teachers, other staff, school committees and parents in 14 schools in the Gorkha district.
Friends of Nepal’s partner in Nepal, Good Neighbors (ACN), are quick to respond to various types of disasters. It can be devastating monsoon rains, landslides, earthquakes, etc. We at Friends of Nepal want to join and support ACN in their various disaster relief projects.
